Safe Place

Targeted to elementary students in Oklahoma City public schools, the Safe Place program is a network of over 140 community businesses and public sites that provide a safe haven for youth in a crisis. Many sites are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and every site is easily identified by the distinctive yellow and black Safe Place logo sign. A few Safe Place sites in the community include fire stations, recreational centers, libraries and businesses. Children in grades Pre-K through 5 are taught how to find a Safe Place as well as recognizing situations or feelings that could be dangerous to themselves, their families or friends.
