Message from CEO Debbie Forshee
Thank you to our many friends – corporations and businesses, foundations, faith-based organizations, philanthropic and civic groups, and individuals – for helping Youth Services for Oklahoma County make a BIG difference in the lives of teens served by our Family Junction Emergency Youth Shelter, First Time Offender Program, Outpatient Behavioral Health Services, and Supporting Kids in Independent Living (SKIL) Program! With your partnership, in the first three quarters of this fiscal year, we have helped over 900 teens “Reach for their own ‘personal’ Stars!”
We celebrate 44 SKIL teens graduating from high school while they were living without parental support when statistics tell us they would have become dropouts. Over 33 of those teens are reaching beyond their dreams of graduation and will be attending college in the Fall. One SKIL client lived on her own, worked a part-time job, and struggled to make ends meet, and was still designated her high school’s Valedictorian. Six of our teens graduated academically in the top 10 of their Senior Class! These are teens with the guts, souls, and hearts it takes to succeed. Thanks to you – our partners – we are giving them the help they all deserve to ensure their success!
YOU are a big part of the “why” and “how” we Change Young Lives!!!
Mission Statement: Youth Services for Oklahoma County, Inc. is a not-for-profit community organization that advocates, educates, intervenes and counsels youth and families to make a positive difference in their lives.
