Youth Services For Oklahoma City

First-Time Offender Program

The Skills Education Program (SEP) is a state sponsored and funded delinquency prevention and early intervention program for first-time youthful offenders.

The intent of the program is to provide a consequence for the youth's behavior and offer life skills education to the parents and their child to improve their communication, relationships, resolution of family problems by learning to make win-win decisions.

Parents and children are referred by courts and are mandated to attend 16 hours of classes. At Youth Services we offer the classes in eight (8) two-hour segments two-evening a week over a four-week period. The SEP curriculum was adapted to include the Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program (PREP), a widely researched program used to teach communication and relationship skills. Classes are offered in English and Spanish.
