The more skills, resources and support young people possess, the more likely they are to be successful, productive adults. There are youth in our community who lack the building blocks to help them succeed. This puts them at risk for becoming homeless, unemployed, engaging in alcohol and drug abuse, having unplanned pregnancies, unprotected sex, and/or untreated mental health issues.
YSOC helps young people and their families navigate through the complexities of growing up in today’s world. When facing these challenges without adequate support, they can face roadblocks to their success. This results in many of them ending up in the juvenile justice or child welfare system, experiencing homelessness, dropping out of school, or engaging in criminal activity.
YSOC provides a network of services designed to successfully transition youth to self-sustained adulthood. We accomplish this in a variety of ways including sheltering, meeting basic needs, teaching life skills, counseling, and achieving educational and vocational goals.
